Why Rush Sigma Tau Gamma?
Brotherhood.
Academics. Service. Pride. Sigma Tau Gamma is a social fraternity whose main concern is people. Sig Tau is an organization made up of may different kinds of people bonded together by friendship. The bonds of friendship that one develops through the fraternity, which we call a brotherhood, lasts a lifetime. Academics Sigma Tau gamma realizes that the main reason you are in college is to receive an education. Therefore, Academics is very important to our chapter. Currently 45% of our brotherhood has a 3.5 GPA or higher. There are also a variety of majors represented. Because education is very important to us, Brothers, along with pledges, must attend study periods twice a week. The academic benifits in joining a national fraternity do not end when you graduate. There are many Sig Taus in the work force all over the US that are looking for hard workers. Its not always what you know, but who you know. Service Sigma Tau Gamma also has a strong role in the community. Our main event of the year is THON. Thon is the world's largest student run philanthropy, to help kids with cancer. We are very proud to sponsor Andrew Seitz, and the entire Seitz family each year. Last year, we raised money for the Seitz family along with many other families in the Four Diamonds Foundation. Sig Tau also participates in such events as The Greek sweep to help clean up State College, and many other philanthropies to raise money for various groups and charities. Pride One of our strongest features, however, is our Pride. Pride is a strong motivational factor that pushes us towards our goals and keeps everyone involved. Sig Tau for life! |
